The first farms were first in Germany and Scandinavia. They were built to house people who owned or worked the land. These courtyards were often combined with rooms and green areas for animals.
This farmhouse was specially designed for the blue tit. It offers a good place to nest not only for the blue tit, but also for the crested tit, marsh tit, willow tit and coal tit.
In bad weather, the birds also use the aviary as a shelter. Under the roof there are ventilation openings. The bottom can be raised to clean the nest box in the fall. There is a keyhole eyelet on the back to hang the box securely.
